Team Manager Check List
1. Talk to coach about his/her specific needs. Some coaches want to do it all themselves, some just want to focus on coaching. This may take time to figure out, but don't be afraid to offer help if you see something slipping through the cracks.
2. Set-up team page. Create practice dates and special events. Once games are posted add Snack responsibilities. Send reminders when necessary. Setup games when out of region.
3. Oversee other team volunteers. Is everyone turning in their raffle tickets and money? Did the team referee sign up for class? Remind parents of their volunteer duties. Get list from coach if necessary.
4. It's game time- Remind parents to be prepared for any inclement weather; bring extra water, water soaked towels, pop-up tents etc. Put player phone numbers in your phone and contact players late for a game, this lets the coach warm up players and get the team ready for the game.
5. Plan the team party. Research different locations and discuss with the coach. Confirm dates with parents and collect money for event, food and coach gift.
6. Should team progress to Area or Sectional playoffs, plan food for in-between games and hotel for Sectional playoffs.
